Nomi I can't hope to equal your thoughtful comments over on my blog, but these are both lovely and exacting. It is clear that you are not cutting yourself any slack, which should be true about all painters, but it isn't certainly not me at all times. What I mean by that is you are not applying a uniform approach but you are responding to nature as it comes, although with a recognizable voice (which we have discussed in previous posts- that equalization of the stroke, although that is smaller here) In short, I like the combination of haziness of form and yet structural rigidity, and haziness of color and searing notes here and there. And I love that wierd green shape upper right of center in the vertical landscape. Very nice.
I love the notion of a "secret garden" that comes through in this series of painting. If you are interested in a buyer, we can discuss the possibility the next time we meet.

Thanks, Vic. Your comments mean more than you know.
ReplyDeleteBut I don't see you as cutting yourself slack, not at all.
